The Spearhead Squadron's withdrawal beyond the horizon does little to mask the Republic of San Magnolia's relentless propaganda. In the ongoing struggle against the Legion, Vladilena Milizé continues to operate as "Handler One," the commander of yet another dehumanized 86th faction squadron. Shinei Nouzen and his crew are confined on the Western Front at a military base held by the Federal Republic of Giad, previously the Giadian Empire. The Eighty-Six are granted full citizenship and freedom by the newly formed government. The company is hosted by President Ernst Zimmerman, who introduces them to Augusta Frederica Adel-Adler, his adopted daughter and the final Empress. Shinei and his crew, on the other hand, believe that their purpose is on the rise within the quiet of this delicate society.
